Abstract
The collection of the Museo Archeologico Nazionale Cagliari shows a carnelian discovered in 1894, in Sorgono by F. Vivanet. The acclamation to Zeus-Serapis and the bust engraved on the back of the gem allows us to recognise the precious object as a testimony to the piety and trust towards the roman emperor, who's identity is most probably Lucius Septimius Severus.
