Abstract
This article attempts to show that an open interprétation of the conciliar document «Unitatis redintegratio» allows the authentic insertion of Catholic ecumenism in the unique ecumenical movement. In the logic of an ecclesiology of communion, the Roman Catholic Church can designate it self as «local», without any ecclesiological relativism. Besides, this Church, as Roman Catholic, is not to be considered as the source of ail visible éléments of Church ofwhich she daims to be the fullness. With regard to the hierarchical communion of bishops with the Pope, one need not see therein the sacrament of ontological eeelesial communion, but rather the organ which régulâtes this on the level of society. Finally, the complex and dynamic nature of eeelesial communion, founded on baptism, might jus t if y limited Eucharistie inter-communion preceding the full dogmatic agreement between the major Church familles.
