Abstract

This study aimed to carry out a critical and descriptive analysis of the existing literature on learning spaces in informal education in order to understand their characteristics, benefits, and challenges, and to explore their potential to enhance teaching and learning processes. This theoretical study consists of a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), consulting the databases of Google Scholar and SciELO Brazil. The analysis of the selected studies revealed that non-formal teaching spaces are those that offer less formal learning of curricular content and complement teaching practice. These spaces include museums, science centers, memory houses, botanical gardens, zoos, planetariums, among others. Therefore, these environments can provide meaningful learning that connects with the student's life.
