Performance ImprovementVolume 38, Issue 10 p. 1-8 Commentary Invoking the playful spirit in training Leslie Brunker, Leslie Brunker Leslie Brunker: , MA, is an organizational development and training consultant based in Portland, Oregon. Her company's name is Unlimited Potentials, chosen for the playful acronym U.P. (as opposed to Potentials Unlimited, which acronym sends a different kind of message!). For 17 years she has developed and implemented active training programs throughout the United States in team building, communication skills, conflict resolution, leadership development, and humor. Leslie studied the areas of interpersonal communication, behavioral science, and organizational development, receiving her bachelor's and master's degrees in these fields. She also teaches classes in communications and training methods at Marylhurst University, Portland State University, and Portland Community College. Her unique consulting, facilitating, and teaching styles incorporate a balance of theory, demonstration, skill practice, group participation, and a joyful sense of humor. Leslie has served as President of the North American Simulation & Gaming Association (NASAGA) and of the Columbia Northwest Chapter of the International Society for Performance Improvement, and Chair for the Oregon Organizational Development Network. Her work has been published in local, national, and international journals, training guides, and professional association newsletters. Swimming continues to be an activity Leslie enjoys.
