Abstract
Abstract This is the final comparison made during 3 years at two locations to determine whether a prophylactic treatment of Penncap M 2 F at 0.56 kg (AI)/ha might be profitable. Twenty-five × 50 ft plots were cut in a bulk Marshall wheat field on the West Central Experiment Station at Morris, MN. Plot size was 7.6 m × 15.3 m and treatments were arranged in a Latin Square design with 4 replications. A combined application of fungicide and insecticide was made on 17 Jun when the wheat was in Feekes stage = 8. Approximately 110 liter/ha of total material was applied at a pressure of 7 kg/cm2 using a hydraulic sprayer. Yields were obtained by combining a strip (1.2 m × 15.3 m) through the long axis of each plot. The grain was dried and moisture and test weights taken. Yields were adjusted to a standard moisture.
