Abstract
Abstract Growers in Maximum Economic Yield (MEY) clubs were found to be prophylactically treating by adding an insecticide to fungicide application when protecting wheat. To examine its value, plots were established at the West Central Experiment Station, Morris, MN. Pathways of 1.8 m were removed from around a 7.6 m × 15.3 m plot just prior to treatment. The treatments were arranged in a Latin Square design. A combined application of insecticide and fungicide was made on 22 Jun (wheat stage Feekes = 8). Approximately 15.2 liters/has of total material was applied at a pressure of 7 kg/cm2 using a hydraulic plot Ser. Yields were obtained by combining a strip (1.5 m × 15.3 m) through the long axis of each plot. The grain was dried, and moisture, protein, and test wts taken. Yields were adjusted to a standard moisture.
