Abstract
In this paper experimental study of heat transfer processes in a cylindrical container non-homogeneously heated from below is presented. The heater has a circular form and was placed in the center of the vessel. The experiments were performed in the range of Rayleigh numbers from 4.4·106 to 1.2·107 and fixed Prandtl number (Pr = 67). Special attention was paid to the influence of the aspect ratio (the ratio of the height of the fluid layer to the diameter of the heater) on the flow structure and the intensification of heat transfer.
