Abstract

The purpose of the work: to determine the impact of basketball classes on the level of motor activity and physical fitness of students. Methodology: during the study of the issues of the scientific article, we used theoretical research methods, in particular, the analysis and generalization of methodological, psychological-pedagogical and educational-methodical literature, which gave an opportunity to study the specifics of the influence of basketball classes on increasing motor activity and physical fitness of students. Scientific novelty: it has been proven that systematic basketball lessons have a positive effect on the level of motor activity and improve the physical fitness of students of higher education.
 Conclusions: thus, one of the most important tasks of the educational process in institutions of higher education is the education of student youth's need for daily physical exercises and increasing the level of motor activity and physical fitness. Among the large number of means of physical education, one of the leading places is occupied by sports games. One of the most popular sports among students is basketball. This sport is often used both for mass physical and recreational work and for achieving high sportsmanship. As a result of the conducted research, we found that during systematic basketball classes of students, there is a significant increase in indicators of physical fitness and motor activity. In addition, playing basketball helps to form perseverance, courage, determination, honesty, and self-confidence. Basketball is also important in learning to work as a team, coordinate your actions with your partners. Therefore, basketball is an important means of physical education, as it increases the level of physical fitness and motor activity, contributes to the harmonious development of the personality, helps students to form theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the ability to rationally perform movements in all types of activities.
