Abstract

At the present stage of development of society, one of the important issues are economic problems that are directly related to the training of specialists in the economic sphere of activity. Economic education forms economic thinking, fosters rational economic behavior and also creates the prerequisites for further professional training, practical activities and creates the basis for professional development. The article discusses the essence of the concept of professional development, as well as the phase of professional development of students in institutions of secondary vocational education. The actual problems of the professional development of future economists studying in institutions of secondary vocational education are revealed through the analysis of the results of a student survey. The requirements of potential employers for vacancies of an economic orientation for candidates with a secondary vocational education and no work experience are described. An analysis of the competencies of the Federal State Educational Standards of secondary vocational education in the direction of preparation "Economics and accounting (by sectors)" is carried out. The article also describes the role of pedagogical support for the professional development of a student at the stage of training in an institution of secondary specialized education. In the study the authors have managed to identify actual problems of the professional development of future economists in institutions of secondary vocational education.
