Abstract
This is the second time that we submit a IAPSO Report. As we stated in our first report four years ago, scientific activities in Hungary relating to physical oceanography had been (and remained) focussed on teaching some chapters of the subject at the Department of Meteorology, Eotvos Lorand University, Budapest. In addition to that, research work is carried out — primarily at the same university — relating to ocean-atmosphere interactions and the possible role of oceans in climatic change. Specific topics included: Regional effects of ENSO in Central/Eastern Europe, cyclone track analysis, and regional modelling of climate. A list of publications, appended to this report provides a general idea of these activities.
