Click to increase image sizeClick to decrease image size Additional informationNotes on contributorsHari M GuptaHari M Gupta obtained the BE (Electronics and Communication) from University of Roorkee, now the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, the MTech (Electronics and Electrical Communications) from IIT, Kharagpur, and the PhD (Electrical Engineering—Information and Communication Systems Major) from IIT, Kanpur.He joined the faculty of Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT, Delhi in 1973 where he is a professor since 1986. He has been the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, and the Coordinator of Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology and Management at IIT, Delhi.Prof Gupta has held faculty appointments at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, and Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA. He has been an academic visitor to the University of Maryland, College Park, Media Lab at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland, the Helsinki University of Technology, Finland and several British universities.Prof Gupta's academic and professional interests are Telecommunication Systems, Computer Communication Networks, Multimedia Systems, and Photonic Information Systems. He served on national and international committees, including India's representative on International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP). He is a Fellow of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India), a Senior Member of Computer Society of India. He has been the Vice-President of Systems Society of India, a Council Member of IETE, the Chairman of the Data Communication Division of CSI and a Founder Member of Association for Security of Information Systems (ASIS).Shyam S ChakrabortyShyam S Chakraborty received MTech from IIT Delhi and Doctor of Technology from Department of Electrical and Communications Engineering, Helsinki University of Technology (HUT), Finland. He is a Docent (Adjunct Professor) at the Networks Laboratory, HUT. He has been a Visiting Faculty at Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Visiting Professor at Aalborg University, Denmark and a Guest Researcher at TKN-Group, Technical University-Berlin, Germany. He was recipient of Academy Fellowship of Academy of Finland in 2000. He is a co-Guest Editor of IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications on a special issue on “Wireless Mesh Networks”. He joined Ericsson Corporate Research in Finland in 2005. His research interests are resource, mobility and security management for real-time systems in wireless networks, modeling of communication protocols, MAC and ARQ schemes, content delivery in wireless networks, path diversity, cross layer optimization etc.
