Abstract
This column explored the graduate students’ perspectives and experiences with quality assessment tools in systematic reviews for theses and dissertations. Through a descriptive qualitative design involving 10 graduate students, key themes emerged: navigating the learning curve, enhancing rigor and validity, acknowledging time-intensive but rewarding processes, emphasizing institutional support, and balancing objectivity and subjectivity. Despite the challenges, the graduate students recognized the importance of these tools in ensuring validity and trustworthiness. With this, curriculum enhancements, guided advising, and institutional support are recommended to strengthen the quality research process.
