Abstract

This study proceeded an on-site investigation of cultural heritage distributed in Hallyeohaesang National Park and found out current conservation status and existence. The cultural heritage of Hallyeohaesang National Park is distributed around the coasts and islands of the Namhae area. In terms of period, it retains various cultures from prehistoric times to modern and contemporary times. Each cultural heritage surveyed mainly consists of monuments, related to Admiral Yi Sun-sin, and national defense remains. The study classified those cultural heritage found by the on-site investigation into designated and undesignated cultural heritage by accurately measuring the locations via GPS. Then, the study performed a spatial analysis based on GIS program to present the location and distribution of the cultural heritage on map spaces. The study tried to present the cultural heritage in Hallyeohaesang National Park in spatial data via GIS and tried to seek for continued conservation and utilization of the regional cultural heritage.
