Abstract

The paper considers lingual signification of gender identity in English mass media texts. The focus of the research concentrates on the contemporary theoretical opinions concerning terminological nomination and contents of the analyzed texts. Gender identity is viewed upon as a social and cultural phenomenon which in mediatexts is represented by verbal means according to masculinity/femininity/queer features, professional activity, sexuality.
