Abstract

National journalism formed its language system not for one decade. Prominent publicists and journalists of second half - the end of XX century have formed very rich, unique and saturated language. Combining verbal (words) and non-verbal expressive language means, journalistic text is intended to convey necessary information to the reader. This is achieved through special positioning of the paper article on the page, size, colour and kind of the types, structure of the article and many other non-verbal means. Verbal means are intended to make the language vivid, precise and adequate. However, oncoming modern informative society and, in particular, quick development of information technologies dictate their own rules of the game, greatly transforming journalistic text. This refers first of all to the new mass media platform – Internet. Considering global network as the concentration of many mass media the author emphasizes that in spite of their diversity all journalistic texts of these mass media have some particular features which can be defined in special terms.
