Abstract

It is said that the adequate and opportune information handling, either, as knowledge and/or mean of communication, allows a better comprehension of the problems associated to the residential habitat and grants an adequate response to those problems. It is taken as a foundation for the elaboration of new proposals to improve the policies, programs and/or projects. It is proposed that an efficient handling of the information supports the process of public-private decision making in respect to the planning and intervention of the residential habitat that, strengthens the citizens and allows a better social control of its management and administration. The information concepts and information systems are presented in a context of a well informed society in relation how wide spread are the information technologies and knowledge (TIC).
