Abstract

The article analyzes the sectoral structure of production, which characterizes it in terms of the subject of labor, in the context of the formation of a neo-industrial economy. The theoretical aspects of production as the basis of the economic system of society are considered, the place and role of labor in production is shown. It is proved that for a comprehensive descriptionof production as a socio-economic phenomenon, it is necessary to reveal the features of its sectoral, technological, and organizational and management structure. Based on the historical approach, the article describes the transformation of the sectoral structure of social production, due to scientific and technological progress and the development of society. It is shown that the distinctive characteristic of the sectoral structure of production in the neo-industrial economy is the preservation of the role of the key driver of economic development for the industrial sector, with the statistical dominance of the tertiary sector due to the priority development of industrial services. This made it possible to identify directions for the formation of structural policies as a component of strategic planning for economic development.
