Abstract
The article presents the best foreign practices of supporting students with disabilities on their way to higher education and summarizes the conditions for implementing such experience in Ukrainian higher education institutions, taking into account the national context and educational traditions. The author analyzes Ukrainian regulatory documents: The Procedure for the Organization of Inclusive Education in Higher Education Institutions (2019) defines the organizational principles of inclusive education in higher education institutions; the Action Plan for 2023–2024 for the Implementation of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine for the Period up to 2030 (approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on April 25, 2023, No. 373-p) provides for paragraph 109. Establishment of student support centers in higher education institutions; the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine until 2030 (2021) defines the direction «Educational Barrier-Free»; the National Strategy for the Development of Inclusive Education until 2029 (2024).The experience of the structural units of Ukrainian higher education institutions that provide organizational support to students with disabilities is studied.The best foreign experience of functioning of student support centers is summarized, on the basis of which the following recommendations are identified: creation of student support centers; availability of a separate area of activity of the center for social support and psychological support; development of platforms for non-formal education; functioning of a mentoring service; ensuring accessibility in compliance with universal design of products.
