Abstract

This article reviews historical changes and current condition on food policy of Turkey. Agricultural sector as responsible for producing food for human life is still the key sector in Turkey. It is supported with many policy tools mainly the reason of meet the food demand of the population. Food policy is shaped according to agricultural policy and national priorities and needs as well as international requirements and developments in agricultural sector. In this article, firstly the historical development in agri-food policy is explained, and then food policy is explained in the context of food security and related legislation of Turkey.
