Abstract
The knowledge of the frequency dependence of the permittivity of polar liquids and of solutions of polar molecules in non polar solvents can give an insight into the relative role of dipole-dipole coupling with respect to other molecular interactions. By power reflectometry in the microwave frequency range, Finsy and Van Loon [1] have shown the importance of the dipole-dipole coupling (through the “dielectric friction” described by Nee and Zwanzig [2] for 1,1,1 trichloro-ethane (T. C.E.) in solution in cyclohexane.
