Abstract
The fluorescence excitation and dispersed fluorescence spectra of the complexes of p-dimethoxybenzene with various non-polar and polar solvent molecules prepared by supersonic expansion have been measured. It was found that only the cis isomer of the molecule selectively forms the complexes with the polar solvent molecules, while both the cis and trans isomers form their complexes with the non-polar solvent molecules.
