Abstract
An article devoted to the study of the main points of using "fake news" for manipulations of the mass consciousness for the purpose of informational and psychological influence. "Fake news" is seen as a covert influence. Information intrusion, manipulation, and the use of socio-psychological influence are a serious threat to both the basic principles of a democratic society and the personal information and psychological security of citizens. The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of "fake news" and ways to overcome them to ensure information security of the state.
