Abstract

ABSTRACT The results of a recent research on the external costs from the biomass-to-electricity fuel cycle, under Greek conditions are discussed in this paper. The work had two objectives: ♦ to test the already developed methodological framework for the estimation of impacts a) on human health from air pollution and b) on water resources from fertilisers leaching and soil erosion, and ♦ to extend this framework in order to cover aspects of strategic interest to the EU, like effects from the use of pesticides and impacts on biodiversity.
