Abstract

Abstract: The expression of Ia antigens on leukemic T cells and thymocytes have been clearly demonstrated. The molecular weight of Ia antigens on these cell populations are similar to those of Ia antigens on B cell populations of spleen cells. The amount of Ia antigens on T cells is a small fraction of that on B cells. Further, they may be masked or hidden on the T cell surface. Ia antigens on T cells probably play a role in tumorigenesis and in immune response phenomena.
