Abstract
An analysis is made of the regional socio-economic system as a dynamical integral system consisting of interconnected natural, economic and social structures which shaped themselves over the course of a multi-stage historical process. The historical-geographical and system methods were used to identify the main evolution stages of the regional socio-economic system on the territory of the Tomsk region. Periodization of the socio-economic development provides a means of studying the directedness of the region's evolution process.
