Abstract
The population growth and the growing visibility of evangelical communities and actors have been some of the most important changes of the religious field Argentine since the 1980s. Since the 2000s, the social and political projection of evangelical leaders and institutions has been reflected in their increasing involvement in several discussions about laws and public policies on sexual and reproductive health. This article aims to identify the main evangelical actors involved in these debates in Argentina during this period and to analyze how they build a legitimate place of enunciation. The article focuses on the debate surrounding the legal recognition of homosexual couples. We developed a qualitative methodological approach, through a survey and analysis of secondary sources of this period (official statements and other documents of evangelical institutions –available in their websites-, national newspapers and regular evangelical publications).
