Abstract

Abstract This article is about the connection between envy and ressentiment. Both are understood as emotional strategies for dealing with desire. Ressentiment is understood as the perpetuation and radicalization of a strong form of envy. Lacan’s mirror stage as well as Nietzsche’s and Scheler’s theories of ressentiment serve as a frame of reference for the development of this thesis.
