Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of glutamine on the serum IL-8, SOD and MDA levels in patients with resection of gastric cancer. Methods A total of 68 patients with resection of gastric cancer were divided into control group and experiment group, with 34 cases in each group. The patients in the both groups were given regular treatment. Patients in the control group were given nitrogen, heat, electrolyte and regular insulin, and the patients in the experiment group received alanyl glutamine injection 2.0 ml/kg by oral administration with once a day, a cycle of 7 days, a total of 2 cycles of treatment. The clinical efficacy, levels of IL-8, SOD, MDA before and after treatment, adverse drug reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with the control group after treatment, the exhaust time and postoperative hospital stay time were shorter in the experiment group(P 0.05). Conclusions Glutamine is effective on resection of gastric cancer, and can decrease the serum levels of IL-8 and MDA, increase the serum level of SOD. Key words: Glutamine; Resection of gastric cancer; Interleukin 8; Superoxide dismutase; Malondialdehyde
