Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSHAS) on the serum SOD and MDA in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods The name,sex,age,height,weight,BMI and WHR was recorded in 46 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM group),39 patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome complicated with type 2 diabetes (DO group),and 40 healthy subjects(N group).All of them taken multi lead sleep detection,and levels of serum SOD and MDA were measured.Results The name,sex,age,height,weight,BMI and WHR had no significant difference in each group (P > O.05).The levels of SOD in serum were significantly lower and levels of MDA in serum were significantly higner in DM and DO group with N group,compared with normal controls(P <0.05).The levels of SOD in serum were significantly lower and levels of MDA in serum were significantly higher in DO group,compared with the DM group (P < 0.05).Conclusions Oxidative injury exist in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus,and the oxidative injury aggravates further in patients complicated with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome.
