Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide practical data that can help elementary school students near the DMZ to form a healthy personality through physical activity through the acceptance of sports culture and the use of sports facilities after school. In this study, a survey was conducted targeting elementary school students and their parents near the DMZ. According to the purpose of this study, the following research results were derived. First, the proportion of students participating in sports was high in the status of sports participation, and in the gender ratio, the participation rate of male students was higher than that of female students. In addition, it was found that friends and parents were greatly influenced by sports activities, and students who did not participate in sports activities were found to watch TV and play computer games as leisure activities outside of the academy. Next, there were significant differences between non-participating and participating students in pleasure, motor skill development, and health promotion factors in sports acceptance motives according to the presence or absence of participation in sports activities. Lastly, as an institution for accommodating sports for elementary school students adjacent to the DMZ, there is a lack of specialized sports facilities, so it depends on schools and cultural centers, so it is necessary to expand facilities.
