Abstract

The scientific-technical information value is determined by the two main factors: its freshness and readiness for an immediate practical utilization. All building research can be divided into two categories: category A—basic research developing the existing theoretical ideas; and category B—applied research, resulting in practical suggestions Information on research results of the category A is used by the institutes for improving the theoretical level of research and hence, its effectiveness. Information on research results of the category B is used by the industrial organizations. It can be useful in cases when research results are ready for their immediate practical utilization. The information in question is to be transmitted in the form of specifications on new structures, technology, design methods, and computer programmes. Even with the high quality of information provided, one should have an efficient direct and back communication between the information suppliers and users. Existence of such communication gives the opportunity to insert the necessary amendments in time and reduces the risk of possible moral and material losses. Evaluation of information use efficiency is facilitated by the existence of direct and back communication between the information suppliers and users.
