Abstract

In the paper, the role of digital technologies at the present stage of education development is revealed at the theoretical level. The problems of updating digital educational technologies that meet modern realities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are noted. There are several types of information and educational activities in the Internet space, such as educational and cognitive, search and cognitive, communicative and cognitive, informational and creative and entertaining and cognitive. The author presents definitions of the concepts of “digital competence” and “digital literacy” of a person and their role in the learning process. It is indicated that Internet technologies can be used at all levels of education, including pre-school, secondary, vocational secondary, higher, and teachers’ additional education. In conclusion, the main ideas and prospects for further research of the digital activity of the individual in the educational process are outlined.
