Abstract

Digital revolution has marked the start of a new technological era in the world economy. India being the open economy has also adopted the digitalization process in all the sectors of the economy. Agriculture, the primary sector of our economy has also seen many changes due to the digital revolution. The present paper is an attempt to explore the impact of digital revolution on Indian Agriculture. It was found that there are many schemes and provisions in the country to make the Agriculture a 'digital agriculture' like National mission on agricultural extension and technology, Mobile services and Optical Fiber Network services to farmers, Kisan Credit Card Services to Farmers, KisanChoupal, Kisan Call Centre, Kisan SMS Portal etc. It was concluded that by adopting few measures like motivating employees, providing accurate information to farmers, adopting digital literacy programmes etc., the government can successfully implement Digital concepts in the agriculture.
