Abstract

Financial education is one of the most transcendental aspects in children’s education, since experts assure that children who understand how to manage their money have better opportunities to make adequate economic decisions throughout their lives, however, the current educational system does not contemplate it, therefore the Ministry of Education has proposed the insertion of Financial Education as a transversal knowledge from initial to third year of high school. The objective of the study is to analyze the relationship between the formation of pre-mathematical skills and the culture of saving and investment in the children of the Victoria Vásconez Cuvi Educational Unit. The research project was carried out under a qualitative-quantitative, descriptive-correlational and mixed design approach. Additionally, a ludic strategy was proposed for children to acquire healthy financial knowledge, concluding that it is essential to incorporate these teachings in the children’s educational process.
