Abstract
The research objective was to determine (1) the development of values from the second principle of Pancasila for sixth graders; (2) what are the constraints of sixth grade teachers in developing the values of the second principle of Pancasila; (3) the solution from teachers to overcome the obstacles in developing the values to the learners. Data were collected using an open questionnaire. Informants were the teachers of sixth graders. Data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion/ verification. To develop the values of the second principle of Pancasila: (a) students need ed the example s from various stakeholders such as teachers, parents and community leaders; (b) the problem is the selfish attitude of learners who did not cooperate with their friends; (c) the solution suggested were having patience and diligence.

Data hasil isian angket dan wawancara dari informan mengenai pengembangan nilai-nilai sila kedua sangatlah beragam dan banyak. Oleh karenanya dirancang batasan-batasan atau pedoman teoretis yang digunakan untuk menyeleksi dan memfokuskan data yang terkait dengan batasan dan pedoman teoretis tersebut. Untuk mempermudah dalam menyeleksi dan mereduksi data, maka pedomanpedoman teoritis dibuat dalm bentuk kode (pengkodean). Pengkodean terhadap pedoman teori mengenai nilai-nilai sila kedua tercantum dalam tabel 2 berikut. 2. Data Display Melalui penyajian data, maka data terorganisir, tersusun dalam pola hubungan, sehingga akan semakin mudah dipahami (Sugiyono, 2010: 95). Data hasil dari reduksi adalah masih berupa data mentah (raw input), dalam artian masih berupa kalimat yang belum tersusun dan terangkai sesuai dengan kaidah atau gaya selingkung penulisan artikel ilmiah. Oleh karenanya data mentah tersebut disajikan ke dalam bentuk uraian kalimat narasi yang disesuaikan dengan kaidah penulisan artikel ilmiah
