Abstract

Nowadays, relations between Russia and China is rapidly is becoming one of the key factors in the formation of a new world order. Wherein both countries are peculiar intimacy, and in some respects – the full coincidence of views on desirable model of international relations in East Asia, the most dynamic region of the contemporary world. Reflection of such centripetal tendencies in Russian-Chinese relations was the announcement Moscow and Beijing of the course on strategic partnership and intensification of economic, political and cultural cooperation between the two countries and their peoples. Russian-Chinese relations, with all its positive dynamics are characterized the presence of a number of acute problems, which, although somewhat moved by the wayside because of the more important bilateral priorities, but they have objectively high as «destructive» potential. Perhaps the most complex, sensitive and explosive, until recently, remained a border and territorial issue. His decision in 2004 was a historic event in Russian-Chinese relations. This problem requires further research into the complex relationship between two great powers. The problem of demarcation of the Russian-Chinese border was not only a key to Russian-Chinese relations at the turn of XX – XXI centuries, It has acquire significant domestic importance, affecting the formation of a new vertical of power in Russia, the relationship between the centre and regions, becoming a tool of political games in the center and in the farEastern subjects of the Russian Federation and the struggle of ambitious leaders for a place in the sun Russian «political Olympus».
