Abstract

This paper introduces a current error space vector based PWM technique for eliminating the common-mode current circulation through the windings of a dual inverter fed induction motor with open-end stator winding even when a common DC source is used for powering both the inverters. Being a current controlled PWM technique this scheme provides fast dynamic response as well as inherent short circuit protection of the drive. This scheme facilitates realization of voltage space vectors of higher magnitude across the motor windings with only one low voltage DC source, The PWM scheme is implemented on a TMS320F28335 digital signal controller. Experimental validation of the proposed scheme is carried out on a 1.1KW induction motor with open-end stator windings.
