Abstract
A new scheme for Direct Torque Control (DTC) of dual inverter fed Induction Motor (IM) with open end stator winding is presented in this paper. This scheme eliminates common mode voltage from the windings there by facilitating both inverters to draw power from a common DC source without circulation of common mode currents though the windings and switches. A major advantage of this DTC scheme is the drastic reduction in the DC link voltage required for realizing a given voltage across the motor windings. The proposed scheme is validated by extensive simulation using MATLAB-Simulink. The experimental verification of this scheme is carried out on an induction motor with open-end stator windings using TMS320F28335 digital signal processor.
