Abstract

The current paper contains a theoretical and methodological proposal to design an Assessment Center process (AC). It could be implemented as a professional service aimed at developing leadership competencies of organizational supervisors and managers. It is supported on the consideration of recent literature providing basic criteria, both theoretical and methodological, concerned to the design and validation process. The author considers several issues related to dimensions election and definition, exercises design, validity and reliability, feedback providing, policy formulation and statement of ethical criteria. On the grounds of those elements a proposal design is offered which provides aims, dimensions to assess, exercise design criteria, dimensions and exercises validation criteria, guides to manage the data obtained through the process and to handling feedback to participants, as well as a general policy and ethics statements.
