Abstract

Relaxation and creep were experimentally studied at various temperatures at small (<3%) strain. From the experimental relaxation curves, creep was calculated with the use of the discrete spectral representation and the known relations of the linear theory of viscoelasticity. In order to find the validity limits of this approach, the nonlinearity ranges were determined from the initial stress and strain values. A comparison of the calculated and experimental dependences has proved the applicability of the method.
