Abstract

The preparation of copper(I) complexes with tricyclohexylphosphine (PCy 3) is reported. From i.r. spectra in the range 4000-200 cm −1, mass spectra, molecular weight measurements and conductance measurements we suggest a trigonal configuration around copper in the complexes Cu(PCy 3) 2 X with X = Cl or Br and CuPCy 3 X with X = Cl, Br or I. A two-coordinate complex is proposed for the compound Cu(PCy 3) 2ClO 4 on the basis of its i.r. spectrum and conductance measurements.
