Abstract

A Computer aided design package for multivariable control systems including identification is presented, which is developed by using the minicomputer with disk, and the multivariable control system for an industrial furnace is designed effectively using this CAD and is described as an application. The controller is designed so that the temperature distribution of the profile of the furnace is desirable and the settling time in the start up becomes faster. The CAD has been used from the plant identification to control system design, where the system structure in the identification and the criterion function for the controller design are chosen by the designer interactively using the CAD. The designed control system could give satisfactory results.
