Abstract

Differences in agricultural productivity may not be clearly detected with the politicaladministrative division constituted by adjacent areas of municipalities. The objective of this work was to identify the productivity of rural areas, with productive activity, in groups of agricultural products in the municipalities of the state of São Paulo. It involved variables on the gross value of production and types of use in rural areas. Production in municipalities was concentrated in certain sets of products, with productive diversification not occurring in municipalities, but in clusters of municipalities and more sharply in regions with higher productivity.
