Abstract
The demand for more assertive and coherent processes is a latent need in contemporary organizations. Making decisions based on various internal and external aspects becomes a challenging task when adequate methods are not used to assist in the decision of adequacy of organizational processes. In this way, this research describes how the PDCA cycle and MIS can re-qualify decision-making in the business environment. To this end, a literature review was carried out, based on material prepared by researchers, consisting of books and scientific articles. Data collection, focused on reviewing studies that presented significant results, regarding the use of the PDCA cycle and Management Information Systems (MIS) as tools to support decision-making processes. The results show that PDCA and MIS help management to achieve various goals, streamlining and improving decisions with the contributions of the tools. The PDCA cycle showed the capacity of its resources to solve problems, from strategic to operational ones. The MIS provides improvement and agility in choosing the best possible decision for the investigated scenario. It is concluded that continuous improvement and information integration increase the probability of decision assertiveness.
