Abstract

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a series of interconnected activities relating to the movement of raw materials to finished goods until it reaches the consumer whereas Logistics is the detailed organization and implementation of a complex operation. The logistics services industry is obtaining, producing, and distributing of the materials and products in the right quantities to the consumer. The essential focal point is to satisfy client needs, further develop effectiveness of the product. The objectives include the consumers awareness, perception, satisfaction level and the problems in logistic services. Logistics service companies has become an essential part of everybody's life as well as modern business services who needs this service on a regular basis to deliver parcel, business documents & other goods from one place to another at a fast time. The empirical study analyses the services rendered by logistics in rural, urban and semi urban areas. It’s based on questionnaire method confined to persons who use logistics service for business purposes. It does not cover logistics companies functioning in other states than Tamil Nadu. The data required for the study has been collected from both the primary and secondary data.
