Abstract
Abstract Cardiovascular diseases pose significant global health challenges, necessitating effective early detection and management strategies. Smartphone-based portable electrocardiogram (ECG) devices offer a promising solution by enabling convenient, real-time cardiac monitoring outside traditional health-care settings. This case report examines the clinical course of a 70-year-old male with a history of hypertension who presented with symptoms of breathlessness. Utilizing the Spandan ECG device, the patient underwent multiple at-home ECG tests, identifying premature ventricular complexes, sinus bradycardia, and left ventricular hypertrophy. Subsequent diagnostic evaluations, including echocardiography, stress testing, and coronary angiography, confirmed coronary artery disease with significant stenosis in the left anterior descending and left circumflex arteries. Portable ECG monitoring facilitated early intervention and personalized treatment, underscoring its role in improving patient outcomes through proactive cardiovascular care. This case highlights the transformative potential of smartphone-based ECG devices in enhancing diagnostic accuracy, facilitating timely interventions, and empowering patients in their health-care journey.
