Abstract

Abstract Candidate acarlcides were evaluated for efficacy against citrus rust mite as dilute full coverage sprays to 4-year-old nonbearing navel orange trees. Materials were applied with a truck-mounted hydraulic pump and handgun with 31.6 kg/cm2 at the pump. Each treatment was applied to 4 tree plots in a randomized complete block design with 5 replicates. Leaf samples (20 Ivs/rep) were collected periodically, and live adult rust mites were counted and recorded from four I0X binocular microscope fields/leaf (2 fields upper and 2 fields lower leaf surface). Vendex 50 WP was used as a standard acaricide, and an untreated control series was included in each test.
