Abstract

Abstract Several acaricides were tested for efficacy against citrus rust mite. Treatments were applied Jun 19 as dilute full-coverage sprays using a truck-mounted hydraulic sprayer and handgun with 450 psi at the pump, to 3-year-old nonbearing navel orange trees in 4 tree plots (replicated 5 times in a randomized complete block design). Twenty leaf samples/rep were examined by using four 10X binocular microscope fields/leaf (2 upper and 2 lower leaf surface), all living adult citrus rust mites in these areas were counted. Citrus rust mites averaged 35.5 mites/rep pretreatment. Rainfall totalled 25.07 inches during the test.
