Abstract

This chapter introduces the research status of iron-based, titanium-based, aluminum-based, and nickel-based composites and previews their future research directions. Metal matrix composites have been widely used in aerospace, aviation and other high-tech fields for their high specific strength, specific stiffness, and excellent high-temperature characteristics. This chapter mainly introduces the research status of laser 3D printing of some common metal matrix composites in the past 10 years, and also points out some common defects in the forming process and their reasons.
