Abstract
This chapter introduces the application of metal matrix composites in the fields of aerospace, biomedical, and mold technology. Metal matrix composites, such as titanium and aluminum alloy composites, are widely used in aerospace as key components, such as turbine disks and impellers, for their lightweight and high-strength characteristics. The metal/bioceramic composites, combining the strength of metal and the excellent biocompatibility of bioceramics, have strong potential in the biomedical fields, including diagnosis, treatment, and repair and replacement of diseased tissues and organs, or enhancement of their functions. In the mold technology industry, metal matrix composites are ideal materials for high-precision and durable molds.
